 Can softTIME run on a network? |
|
A: Yes, all versions of softTIME are network abled. The database should be stored on shared network drive and the software can be installed on individual work stations or directly to the server (and the system admin, in that case, would create shortcuts.)

 Is SoftTIME Upgradeable? |
|
A: Yes, all of your current softTIME data is 100% transferable. This is also true for a private label version called “Selectime” that was discontinued 4 years ago. The latest versions have live web updates which assure that client will have the most up-to-date product.

 Will softTIME import & export? |
|
A: Yes, this software offers the standard import capabilities from most common types file types (i.e. Excel, ASCI, etc.) A Custom Export Writer is built-in into the program along with some standard exports. |
 Does softTime offer a security feature? |
|
A: Yes, the security feature restricts access via user name and password. There are three primary security levels:
1. Employee access or read only
2. Supervisor access
a. Read only per department or all departments
b. Limited access per department or all departments
i. Limited allows for the supervisor/administrator to record attendance information without changing balances or altering previous recorded data
c. Full admin rights or non restricted within that department
3. Super Administrator:
a. Set the rules or policies
b. Grants security rights
c. Updates the software

 Does softTIME allow for point/occurrence tracking? |
|
A: The softTIME Diamond & DSQL versions offer a built-in and extremely customizable point/occurence tracking module. We designed this feature to automate the tedious process of tracking employee attendance infractions and issuing notices. Great for employee reviews and taking disciplinary action, the softTIME solution maintains an occurrence history of all employee attendance infractions (such as tardy, long lunch, early departure) while offering a number of reporting options.

 Does softTIME offer vacation buy back? |
|
A: Yes, the program has a built in adjustment tool that allows the user to subtract given days within a category and denote the reason. For example, if Julie wanted to sell back 3 days of vacation rather than losing them or carrying those days to the next recording year, the company could buy those vacation days back. |
 Do you have to update the software annually or bi-annually? |
|
A: A lot of attendance programs are limited in the years they allow a user to track attendance information. SoftTIME however comes with unlimited years and automated web updates that will notify the user when there is upgrade to be downloaded. |
 Can I schedule vacation for the future? |
|
A: Yes, the Diamond version allows the employee to schedule future vacations before they happen…rather than recording those days before they happen (this way people can change their mind). |
 What is the difference between SoftTIME Diamond and D/SQL? |
|
A: SoftTIME D/SQL utilizes a SQL Server database allowing for optimal speed for large networks including Wide Area Networks. It also allows for SQL specific functions such as database querying and running automated routines. SQL Servers utilize less network bandwidth which results in faster network speed for all applications. |

 How can I prevent employees from buddy punching? |
|
A: Most time & attendance solutions are vulnerable to employee “Buddy Punching” or the sharing of passwords and ID badges. That is unless you use one of our biometric time recorders. Please ask one of our trained time & attendance specialists what biometric devices and options are available. |
 Where does the system get the time from? |
|
A: The TimeKron Diamond solution collects the time from wherever the data is stored. Therefore, if the data is housed on your network TimeKron Diamond will read the time from the server and subsequently any clock in & out times cannot be modified at the various workstations without proper security access. |
 Can I send information from TimeKron to payroll program/provider? |
|
A: TimeKron offers built-in export templates for most of the popular payroll providers (ADP, Quick Books, Peach Tree, etc.). If you use a payroll system that is not supported by one of the built-in templates, you can create your own export template to do the job for you. Creating and editing templates are very simple to do.

 What is the difference between TimeKRON Diamond and T/SQL? |
|
A: TimeKRON T/SQL utilizes a SQL Server database allowing for optimal speed for large networks including Wide Area Networks. It also allows for SQL specific functions such as database querying and running automated routines. SQL Servers utilize less network bandwidth which results in faster network speed for all applications. |
 Can I email my TimeKRON reports? |

A: Yes. All of your TimeKRON reports can be emailed either individually or as a batch. Batch Emailing allows you to email a group of individuals their own individual report with just a couple clicks of a button. |
 Does TimeKRON offer off-site punching capabilities? |
|
A: Yes. TimeKRON currently supports off-site punching through your corporate web page (script provided), hardware punch clocks via Wide Area Network, and through the use of hardware punch clocks off network (in a remote environment). |

 What is the difference between HR Diamond and HR/SQL? |
|
A: HR SQL utilizes a SQL Server database allowing for optimal speed for large networks including Wide Area Networks. It also allows for SQL specific functions such as database querying and running automated routines. SQL Servers utilize less network bandwidth which results in faster network speed for all applications. |
 Can I email my HR reports? |

A: Yes. All of your HR reports can be emailed either individually or as a batch. Batch Emailing allows you to email a group of individuals their own individual report with just a couple clicks of a button. |

Technical Support |

 My password doesn't work. |
|
A: The first time you log in, the system defaults to a User Name of "Admin", and no password is required. Just press Enter and you will be logged in to the software. At this point, you can set up individual User Names and Passwords by clicking on the Employee Information tab.
Remember, the password field is case sensitive. Check your caps lock key. You can also adjust your workstation options for each individual workstation. |
 Computer freezes when trying to load TimeKron. |
|
A: Your workstation probably does not meet the minimum requirements. Make sure that no other programs are running in the background. If the problem still occurs, change the display on the video driver to a standard Super VGA display. |
 Can your staff access my data at any time? |
|
A: Only if you allow us access. Software Techniques does not store or keep any copies of user data at any time. All data belongs strictly to the user and Software Techniques will only access data for support purposes under strict authorization by the user. |
 Printer display reads: Memory Overload. |
|
A: Turn the printer Off and On. Go to your desktop, click Start-Settings->Control Panel ->Printers. Reduce the print resolution to the next lowest level. Set up the report for printing again.
Also, 2MB of printer memory is recommended. |
 Unable to send email (SoftTime, TimeKron). |
|
A: This is usually caused by port 25 being blocked. Our software sends SMTP emails to the outgoing server through port 25. If port 25 is blocked or the mail server cannot process SMTP emails this function in the software will not work. |
 Request emails are in garbled characters. |
|
A: This usually happens after updating Microsoft Exchange. This is a known issue with Microsoft, however contact support and we can send you a fix that should take care of the problem. |
